Vision

The HBCU Center for Excellence in Behavioral Health illuminates inequities and fosters solutions for marginalized communities impacted by substance use disorders and serious mental illness.

Mission

  1. Increase the number of racial and ethnic minority students prepared to enter the behavioral health field;
  2. Increase student awareness of careers in behavioral health;
  3. Assist students with continuing their education in behavioral health;
  4. Establish partnerships among HBCUs and other organizations to share resources and strategies to strengthen their capacity to recruit and train students for careers in substance use, mental and co-occurring disorder treatment.
